1.Name?

My name is Rosa Maria Intorre.

2.How long have you been in Italy and where?

I am Italian and I come from Rome.

3.Can you tell us a little about yourself?

I am Rosa Maria and I am italian and I come from the wonderful city of Rome!!! I studied for many years Psicology of kids and I worked for 13 years in kindergardens as a teacher. Already when I was a teenager I had passion to do make-up on models into the covers of Cosmopolitan and Vogue. After a few years I started as a model and I did a course about make-up artist. Also I did a course about Fine Art school for grapher with Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and marketing. I did an exposition about "Angels" in Piazza del Popolo in Rome into the Chiesa degli Artisti. Step by step grew up this passion to do make-up and I developt myself about visagist to study the skin and advise people how to use creams and other products. Psicology helped myself to enter better to be connected with people and understand problems and help them to be more secure about themself and about their own personality. I like to discover people that enjoy and become sattisfied about the result of my work!!! I like the joy of colours!!!

All these combinations were the better choice to start this work.

4.Can you describe a perfect day in your city/region?

Question 4 is more or less similar to question 9. So see my response to question 9.

5.What are the top five must see things in your city?

Whether you have one, two, three days or more, Rome has plenty to offer and more than enough to keep you entertained.

Rome wasn’t built in a day and shouldn’t be visited in a day either. Barring that, lace up your walking shoes and spend your time focusing on the main sites.

The main attractions in Roma that are well-known worldwide are:

Colosseo

S.Pietro

Palatino-Foro Romano

Fontana di Trevi

Pantheon with Piazza della Rotonda

Musei Vaticani with Cappella Sistina

After these famous names we can advise you also the next attractions to visit:

Doing a City Tour.

Piazza di Spagna

Castel S. Angelo

Piazza Navona

Piazza Venezia

Piazza del Popolo with the twin churches

Via del Corso

Terrazza del Pincio

Villa Borghese

Trastevere

Isola Tiberina

Aventino with the churches

Bocca della Verità with the church of S. Maria in Cosmedin

Circo Massimo with Terme di Caracalla

Via Appia Antica

6.What tourist attractions do you think are underrated or over-rated?

Rome is a “museum on the sky” and therefore for me nothing is underrated or over-rated. But of course it depends upon someones taste.

7.What are your favorite restaurants or places to eat?

My favorite restaurants are: Vanni (www.vanni.it) in Via Col di Lana and is a combination with a elegant restaurant named Il Peristilio and also simple one with the self-service and pizzeria. Pizza is very tasteful and the boy that take care is very good to prepare pizza. All the staff Is very professional and friendly. Also there is confectionery that is wonderful with pastry so big with a lot of creativity and very good taste! Is so close to Rai tv offices and also in the nearby Via Ottaviano-San Pietro. Another restaurant where often I go is ristorante-pizzeria La Piemontese (www.ristorantepiemontese.com) that has fixed price menu and you can eat many things. It is a very big restaurant with many rooms and the staff is very kind and professional. It is so close to Valle Aurelia metro station.

8.Favorite Aperitivo bar?

Is the Pappagallo bar that has aperitive bar with confectionery and restaurant. It is very nice elegant bar very famous in Roma. Many people are used to reach in the late evening to buy also croissant but also to take aperitive…

9.What’s your favorite day trip destination?

The perfect day trip for roman people is a combination of relaxing and shopping at the same time for example : in the morning reach Villa Borghese and bring a book and try relax (ozio creativo o dolce far niente) and breathe the wonderful view from Pincio terrace (with the lively lights of the city) to discover the view of a few districts of Rome with Piazza Venezia, San Pietro etc etc… And after reach the stairs of Piazza di Spagna and immediately you can find many elegant luxury streets for shopping and in the meantime while you walk you can reach so easily main attractions like Pantheon, Piazza Navona and Fontana di Trevi.

Another day trip destination could be to reach Via Ottaviano with the local markets (bags, bijoux, shoes, books etc etc) with very cheap prices and sometimes good brands and so by Via Ottaviano you can reach Via Cola di Rienzo that is a street with famous shops with the big old traditional food market. Btw, in this district you will be close to San Pietro and Castel S.Angelo. Directly attached on this castle there is a bridge across the river Tevere that also can lead you to main attractions like Pantheon, Piazza Navona and Fontana di Trevi. The view from the bridge is gorgeous just like the view from the top of the castle and of course I mean Castel S.Angelo with the angel wich is the symbol of luck and protection.

10.Favorite local food or products that everyone should try out? For example, oil, wine, or a specific dish?

There is an international food store in Roma ( with many kind of food products very particular) that is named Castroni and you can find it in many districts of Rome but also so close to the center area in Via Ottaviano and Via Cola di Rienzo nearby S. Pietro. My favourite local food are : ravioli with crema di noci, pasta al forno, pasta alla matriciana, pasta aglio olio e peperoncino, pasta alla carbonara, supplì, pizza bianca and focaccia...

11.What advice would you give to vacationers in your city?

Prepare yourself before that you arrive and make a list of the attractions that you prefer to visit. A good solution might be to start with a city tour. And so you can discover Roma in a very fast and easy way. The bus gives you the opportunity to hop on and off where you wish. Probably you need a guide/book and a city plan.

12.Is there anything else you want to share?

If you have more time, you may want to get out and explore some of the other sights of Rome.  Ostia Antica is an ancient seaport within an hour of the city and is Rome’s excavated answer to Pompeii. The Tivoli Gardens and the Villa d’Este was the summer residence of Emperor Hadrian and is a living Eden, filled with fountains, statues and breathtaking Baroque gardens. It’s best reached by an organized tour.  Also I suggest to reach the Castelli Romani in the south –east of the city with Rocca di Papa and Castel Gandolfo ( summer residence of the Pope) with the Nemi lake. North of the city, Lago di Bracciano is a relaxing lake area with plenty of nature and three interesting Medieval villages along the shore, complete with castles, churches and villas – a great getaway from the hustle and bustle of Rome. The beaches in and around Civitavecchia on the Mediterranean town is another option. Of course you may not wish to leave Rome at all. We don’t blame you.

Riflessioni personali :

Personal Reflections:

Every trip we do tells something about us, everything we see remains in us forever, I believe that a story helps, in one way or another to understand the emotions that a place can arouse.

I think that Rome is a wonder, every corner of this city is a piece of history, a piece of our history, a fragment of the culture of which we should all be proud.

Rome is a journey of unique emotions, every corner of Rome has something to give to all of us.

Rome is culture, history, playfulness, joy cheerful color, gaiety.

Rome is a city that will remain forever in my heart and in the eyes of those who were there.

Rome is a net of life stories, stories of people who live there, who we will go, stories about love, love the city, love for its monuments, its churches, for its fountains, love these eternal places and always full of charm, which can make us fall in love with Rome, make us fall in love with who is on our side and make us fall in love with life with its many warm colors of the city ... eternal symbol of the city history.

Its beauty that makes it immortal.

A cosmopolitan metropolis spirit, able to manage events brilliantly by millions of visitors and to stay at the same time genuinely Italian, with neighbours, the noons punctuated by the sound of the bells, the sunny mornings.

Imagining with my own eyes: A summer evening-sunset-domes-monuments-swallows-the scent of the plants in the parks-starry-music outdoors, evenings in restaurants with friends and Roman-silence the cool of a church ...

Rome is a stormy sea, is the breath that you miss when you walk along the Tevere at sunset.

Millennia have passed and Rome as a charm continues to have no rivals among the favorite destinations of international tourism.

Seems to enter into the past during the Roman Empire ...

The story linked to it .... it was the Romans to give away everything ...

Romantic people for excellence should start their visit in the early morning and go up the steps of Piazza di Spagna, to enjoy the intense aroma of coffee and enjoy a few moments of intimacy immersed in this great scene from the movie ...

So here Rome is all of this, and even more ....

My heart, my life, my story. Everything starts here. My journey of love continues ...

P.S. : I dedicate two songs of Rome to all romantics and to my mother who is flying in heaven with the angels, my great great love ... Goodbye mom!
